A Message from the Logan County Sheriff

On behalf of the men and women of the Logan County Sheriffs Office, I would like to welcome you to our Web Site. I hope you find the information contained within this site to be both interesting and useful. As your Logan County Sheriff, it is my firm commitment that first and foremost the Sheriffs Office will be responsive to the needs of the community we serve.

In an ongoing effort to enhance our responsiveness by bringing governmental services much closer to the public, the Sheriffs Office Web Site has been designed to be easily accessible and user-friendly. This is just one example of the valued partnerships that have been established between the Sheriffs Office and members of our community.

The county sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of the county, responsible for maintaining the peace and enforcing state criminal laws. The sheriff is required to serve and execute processes, subpoenas, writs and orders as directed by the court. The sheriff operates and must maintain the county jail. The sheriff is also fire warden for prairie or forest fires in the county. Finally, the sheriff performs certain functions in connection with sales of real and personnel property to satisfy debt or tax liens.

The Logan County Sheriffs Office, which consists of 52 law enforcement professionals, has been an active partner with our community in many different ways. The areas that are highlighted in this Web Site reflect this commitment to responsiveness and involvement.

In this Web Site you will be able to access information about employment, civil process, records requests, jail information, sex offender information, victims advocate information and concealed handgun permit information, to include our on-line applications.

While reviewing our Web Site, if you have any questions or comments concerning any component of the Sheriffs Office, please feel free to email anyone in the office from this site. In order to effectively meet the challenges of an ever-growing and changing community, it is important that you provide your input on the myriad of services that we provide. Your suggestions are of great value to each and every one of us at the Logan County Sheriffs Office.

Sheriff Brett L. Powell
